About Our Head Start Program
CDCFC, Inc. provides high quality, comprehensive development programs and services to income-eligible children and their families. Children ages 3-5 years old may attend full or half-day preschool classes that focus on developing school readiness skills along with providing health, nutrition, and other social services throughout program enrollment. To meet the unique needs of our families, CDCFC offers a variety of program options.
Center Based Program Children enrolled in this option attend a full or part-day session at one of our Head Start centers. Center staff use a team teaching approach in creating a nurturing learning environment, with a teacher/child ratio of 2:17. We implement Creative Curriculum which is an early learning program designed to create learning experiences that are organized around four major developmental areas -- those being social/emotional, fine gross motor, cognitive along with language and literacy. Our teachers place special emphasis on the development of language and literacy based on its direct impact on early reading and school readiness.
Home
Base Program In our Home Base program, Home Visitors provide in-home, one-on-one instruction to parents of enrollees and their siblings. To develop and enhance their socialization skills, enrollees participate in "socialization" days which provide opportunities to experience a Head Start classroom setting twice per month. For additional information you may contact Home Base staff below: Sandra Haley, Home Base Supervisor
Early Learning Initiative (ELI) "The Early Learning Initiative (ELI) is a collaboration between the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) that is designed to provide children, often identified as at risk of school failure, with educational experiences that will help them enter kindergarten ready for success; and meet the child care needs of working families". Ohio Department of Job and Family Services The ELI program offered through CDCFC provides social service, health, and education services and support to 17 contracted child care centers in Franklin County.
