Head Start

CDCFC provides quality, comprehensive early childhood education programs and services to income-eligible children and their families. Preschool children ages 3 -5 attend full-day or part-day classes focusing on developing kindergarten readiness skills, health and nutrition. Social services are also offered to each family as part of the child’s enrollment to ensure parent involvement in their child’s learning and development. Programs and services include:

  • Kindergarten readiness including, cognitive and motor skill development, problem-solving, and socialization
  • Vision, hearing, dental and speech screenings
  • Referrals to local and community social service agencies and resources
  • USDA – approved daily menu consisting of nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snack
  • Classroom setting and environment appropriate for early childhood learning and development - ages 3 – 5
  • Educational field trips to provide children exposure to culture
  • Strong parent and family engagement
  • Programs and services are provided by qualified, well-trained, caring early childhood educators and social service professionals
  • Services are provided with consideration for the diverse needs of families including special needs and/or disabilities
