Disabilities

CDCFC believes that children with special needs can benefit from inclusion in a typical classroom setting. Staff work with parents and specialists to develop individualized programs and adapt their strategies to meet the unique needs of each child. CDCFC works closely with the local school districts and the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities (FCBDD) to ensure that each child has a real “Head Start”.

Mental Health

Early Childhood Mental Health Consultants and Inclusion Specialists provide mental health interventions to children with behavioral and developmental concerns. These specialists are Graduate students trained in early childhood development who assist teaching staff with classroom observations, child development evaluations and social skills training in the classroom and they provide training for parents and staff. All services focus on insuring that the children in our care learn key social skills for preschool, engage in developmentally appropriate social activities and have access to appropriate interventions for childhood behaviors that may interfere with learning and development.
