Supporting Families Beyond the Classroom
The Family Service Workers collaborate with families to build on their strengths, set meaningful goals, and connect with services that support healthy, stable, and successful lives. Our Family Service Workers provide guidance and referrals to trusted community resources, including healthcare, pregnancy and parenting support, housing assistance, nutrition programs, employment services, education opportunities, and crisis intervention.
Family & Community Engagement
Strong families create strong communities. We work alongside families and community partners to provide resources, support, and meaningful opportunities that promote family well-being and help children thrive in school and beyond. Families are encouraged to participate in volunteer opportunities, family events, leadership activities, and educational workshops designed to foster connection and growth.

Parent Leadership Opportunities
Families are encouraged to take an active role in our program through parent committees, Policy Council participation. We strive to create welcoming environments where every family voice is valued and respected.
The Parent Committee provides families with opportunities to become actively involved in their child’s Head Start experience. Through meetings, activities, and events, parents can share ideas, support program activities, learn about child development, and build connections with other families and staff. Parent Committees encourage family participation and help strengthen the partnership between home and school.
The Policy Council is a leadership group made up primarily of Head Start parents and community representatives who work together to support program planning and decision-making. Members help review and approve program policies, budgets, and initiatives while advocating for the needs of children and families. Participation in the Policy Council gives parents a voice in shaping the program and developing leadership skills.
